12 O'Brien Institute members awarded CIHR project grants
Congratulations to O’Brien Institute members who were successful in their Spring 2025 applications for CIHR project grants to advance public health research, and kudos to all applicants for staying in the game! Ten project grants were awarded along with two priority announcements (both in the “Patient-Oriented Research - Health equity-focused iCT” streams), such that 32% of O’Brien applicants were funded. This is an excellent outcome in relation to the national success rate of 17%, and contributes to the University of Calgary’s rate of 24% and the Cumming School of Medicine’s rate of 26%. It also holds promise for new and resubmitting applicants that their award could be next!
