Schulich congratulates the class of 2014

Spring Convocation celebrates student achievements

Years of diligence and dedication were recognized at the Schulich School of Engineering Spring Convocation on June 9. Hundreds of graduates walked across the stage with wide smiles and degrees in hand, ready for the next chapter of their lives.

At the ceremony, Bill Rosehart, dean of the Schulich School of Engineering and Lisa Young, dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, presented Schulich graduates with their degrees.

Chancellor Jim Dinning, President and Vice-Chancellor Elizabeth Cannon and Distinguished Graduate Emily Zhang conferred degrees to over 500 BSc recipients, and over 200 MSc, MEng and PhD recipients.

An honorary degree was presented to George Roter, co-founder of Engineers Without Borders Canada. The honorary degree, Doctor of Laws, is the University of Calgary’s highest academic honour bestowed on individuals whose notable achievements and community service merit recognition.
