Academic Lead
Dr. Jayna Holroyd-Leduc
Jayna is the Academic Lead of the Centre on Aging. She is an academic geriatrician, Professor, and Head of the Department of Medicine at the University and Alberta Health Services (AHS) Calgary zone. Her research utilizes knowledge translation science to improve care for older adults. She holds the University of Calgary Brenda Strafford Foundation Chair in Geriatric Medicine. Jayna plays a leadership role within the Canadian Frailty Network, and was previously an Associate Editor for the Canadian Medical Association Journal (2010-2020). She was also the former Head of the Division of Geriatric Medicine (2016-2020) within the Department of Medicine at the University of Calgary/AHS Calgary zone, Medical Director of the AHS Calgary zone Specialized Geriatric Services (2016-2020), and Scientific Director of the AHS Seniors Health Strategic Clinical Network (2012-2015).

Manager
Dr. Chantelle Zimmer
Chantelle is the Manager of the Centre on Aging. She has multidisciplinary training in the social and health sciences. Her primary research interests are improving the social participation, social inclusion, health, and well-being of equity deserving populations. Most of Chantelle’s work with older adults is focused on age-friendly communities, age-friendly universities, and healthy aging. She has provided leadership for academic and community associations by serving on various boards and committees, including the Alberta Association on Gerontology, as well as for non-profit organizations working as a consultant. Chantelle holds an Adjunct Assistant Professor appointment in the Faculty of Kinesiology.

Project Coordinator
Lindsay Morrison
Lindsay is a Project Coordinator for the Centre on Aging. She has a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology specializing in health, exercise, and sport psychology from the University of Calgary. Lindsay’s work with older adults has focused on supporting active and healthy aging through engagement in group physical activity, age-friendly cities and communities, and physical literacy. Lindsay is interested in innovative and collaborative approaches to health promotion, supporting age-inclusivity initiatives, and exploring the benefits of community dance for older adults.

Research Coordinator
Erin Davis
Erin is a Research Coordinator for the Centre on Aging. She has a Master of Science degree in Health Sciences, a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Religious Studies and Psychology, and a Diploma of Nursing. Erin worked front-line nursing for over ten years across various specialized fields including Maternal/Child and Gynecology, Surgery, and Wound Care. For the last seven years, Erin has been actively involved in conducting research in the fields of Health and Social Sciences. Her research focuses on culture change in healthcare systems, including developing and implementing person-centred care practices, as well as exploring non-pharmaceutical interventions for individuals living with dementia and Alzheimer’s. Erin is passionate about transdisciplinary and community-led research approaches that drive innovative and supportive culture change within healthcare.
