Transplant Wellness Program: Get Moving, Feel Better
The Transplant Wellness Program (TWP) is here to help kidney, liver and lung transplant patients to improve their well-being both before and after surgery. Our main focus is on physical activity and exercise, because moving more can make a big difference in your transplant journey.
Why is Physical Activity Important?
Getting active before or after your transplant can:
- Help you tolerate surgery better.
- Reduce your hospital stay.
- Speed up your recovery.
- Improve your overall physical and mental health.
What Does the TWP Offer?
The TWP provides comprehensive support to help you become more physically active. We'll help you overcome any challenges to getting active through
- A 12-week supervised exercise program led by a Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP).
- Personalized wellness behavior support
Ongoing Support and Resources
Even after the 12-week exercise program, the TWP continues to support your wellness journey with maintenance resources, including:
- Group exercise classes
- Group wellness support
- Educational webinars
You'll have access to these maintenance resources even if you choose not to participate in the 12-week exercise program - just head over to our participant resources page!
Our goal is to help you build lasting healthy habits for a stronger, healthier you.
