Dr. David Ben-Israel
Biography
Dr. Ben-Israel is currently a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Calgary, with Dr. Eldon Spackman, exploring the impact of different ischemic stroke treatments on patient care and healthcare costs. He is also a Neurosurgery Resident Physician at the University of Calgary.
Education and Training
Dr. Ben-Israel completed a BSch in 2006 at the University of Guelph, majoring in Biological Chemistry, an MA in Health Economics at the University of McMaster in 2010, and obtained an MD at the University of Toronto in 2011. Dr. Ben-Israel is currently a resident physician in good standing in Neurosurgery at the University of Calgary.
Research Interests and Expertise
Dr. Ben-Israel’s current research interests include decision analytic modelling, specifically in the area of neurosurgery. He is currently involved in several projects spanning the breadth of neurosurgery including hydrocephalus, lumbar spine surgery, and stroke, management with applications to future randomized controlled trials associated with his projects.
