Biography

Dr. Matthew Eagles is a Neurosurgery resident at the University of Calgary and is pursuing his master’s in health economics through the O’Brien Institute of Public Health. Matt is currently the president of the Canadian Neurosurgical Research Collaborative and is the Canada West resident representative for the Canadian Neurosurgical Society.

Education and Training

Matt completed his undergraduate degree in economics at St. Thomas University in New Brunswick before attending medical school at Memorial University of Newfoundland. He began his neurosurgical residency in July of 2017.

 

Research Interests and Expertise

Matt’s primary research interest revolves around socioeconomic and geographic disparities in the administration of emergent neurosurgical interventions. He has also previously published on medical complications and imaging characteristics for patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage.
