Population Mental Health
The O’Brien Institute for Public Health is committed to the advancement of mental health research, and supports the work done in this field by relevant research faculty, staff, and trainees from the Cumming School of Medicine; the Faculties of Arts, Environmental Design, Kinesiology, Nursing, Social Work, and Veterinary Medicine; the Werklund School of Education; and Alberta Health Services.
The Institute acknowledges the Mathison Centre for Mental Health Research and Education as the hub for both health services and population research in the area of mental health at the University of Calgary. The O’Brien Institute collaborates with the Mathison Centre, and encourages its relevant members and stakeholders to leverage their mental health research efforts through the Centre, thus supporting the University’s Brain and Mental Health Research Strategy.
