A centre within the O'Brien Institute, W21C is a not-for-profit research and innovation initiative based in the University of Calgary and the Calgary zone of Alberta Health Services. W21C serves as a research and beta test-site for prototypical hospital design, novel approaches to health care delivery, human factors research, and innovative medical technologies.

Help Promote Clean Hands through Interaction Design:
A Custom Visualization Workshop

The University of Calgary’s W21C Research and Innovation Centre has adopted and developed an open-source social innovation designed to increase hand hygiene compliance. This workshop will highlight the importance of hand hygiene not just in healthcare settings but throughout the community, how interaction design can be used to promote hand hygiene, and the next steps of this research project. Attendees will learn a basic introduction to coding for interaction design to create their own customizable visualizations for the hand hygiene software.
