Professor's paper cited in two decisions
Professor Gideon Christian’s paper on the doctrine of spoliation cited by the Ontario Court of Appeal and the Court of King's Bench of Alberta.
On September 12, 2024, the Ontario Court of Appeals cited Gideon’s piece “A "Century" Overdue: Revisiting the Doctrine of Spoliation in the Age of Electronic Documents” (2022) in SS&C Technologies Canada Corp. v. The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation, 2024 ONCA 675. And on July 7, 2025, the Court of King's Bench of Alberta cited the same paper in La Trace v Warkentin Building Movers, 2025 ABKB 412.
