Brenda Strafford Centre on Aging
The Brenda Strafford Centre on Aging is a cross-faculty aging hub whose mission is to create an ecosystem for innovation in age-inclusive environments, practices, and policies. They are focused on catalyzing networks and leading collaborative innovations centered on older adults through education, research, and community engagement. The Centre’s vision is to achieve optimal health and well-being for older adults driven by evidence and in an inclusive manner.
Centre for Health Policy
The Centre for Health Policy is a keystone opportunity to achieve the aims of Growth through Focus by proving that great societies are anchored by great research universities. The Centre operates using a partnership model where community organizations and university researchers bring health policy challenges and solutions to the Centre to achieve three main aims: providing thought leadership, strengthening our focus on our community, and increasing the visibility and reach of expertise on matters of health policy.
Health Equity HUB
The Health Equity HUB will act as a platform for researchers across the University of Calgary to collaborate with governments and community agencies. The alliance will mobilize health equity research into innovative changes to policy and practice, addressing persistent and challenging structural problems that can only be solved through a focus on health equity.
W21C
W21C is a not-for-profit research and innovation initiative based in the University of Calgary and the Calgary zone of Alberta Health Services. W21C serves as a research and beta test-site for prototypical hospital design, novel approaches to health care delivery, human factors research, and innovative medical technologies.
