Academic Director, Centre for Health Policy, O’Brien Institute for Public Health

The O’Brien Institute for Public Health invites applications for the inaugural position of Academic Director, Centre for Health Policy (0.2 FTE).

This leadership position will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to use research and innovation to advance health in all policies. The successful candidate will be an active member of the O’Brien Institute for Public Health, have formal training in health systems or population health research methods (PhD or professional degree (e.g., MD, JD) plus formal research training), experience leading impactful health policy-related research (research on health policy or research that informs health policy) initiatives and demonstrated leadership skills.

A track record of community partnerships, Tri-Council funding as a nominated principal applicant, dissemination of findings to local, national and international audiences and knowledge exchange to improve health policy are important. Duties with this position include, but are not limited to, establishing a strategic direction for the Centre, developing organizational structures to foster the Centre’s success and building collaborations across partner organizations.

The successful candidate will assume leadership of the Centre for Health Policy, O’Brien Institute for Public Health. The successful candidate would commence this role on April 1, 2023 or a mutually agreed upon date.
