The Calvin, Phoebe and Joan Snyder Chair in Critical Care Research
The Cumming School of Medicine (CSM) is inviting internal applications for The Calvin, Phoebe and Joan Snyder Chair in Critical Care Research. This position seeks an individual with proven leadership skills to develop, implement and maintain a Critical Care research program. The Chair is funded via a University of Calgary endowment providing an annual spending allocation of approximately $235k per year.
Applicants must be at the rank of Associate or full Professor, with a research interest in clinical care research. The appointee will be expected to develop innovative uses for the funding from this Chair and to provide leadership in developing and maintaining a high quality, externally funded research program at the University of Calgary. The successful applicant will also be expected to promote collaborative research across disciplines, building on strengths, and utilizing existing resources available in the CSM and the Snyder Institute. Engagement with community is essential to provide education on critical care and promote ongoing research initiatives. Attracting and mentoring trainees and faculty in critical care will help grow this area of research.
The appointment will be for a five-year term, renewable once upon successful review.
