Farewell Pablo
The O’Brien Institute manager of strategic communications, Pablo Fernandez, is no longer with the Institute effective June 13, 2022.
Pablo’s time with the Institute began in October 2014, one month after it was formally named the O'Brien Institute for Public Health. Pablo was instrumental in the development and growth of the O’Brien Institute as it evolved into an influential health research entity and a nationally-respected public health organization.
During his time with the Institute, Pablo worked closely with members and various research groups to advance public health research, translate that research to the public through large-scale events and outreach initiatives, and to inform public health decision-making. Pablo was an instrumental part of the Institute core team. His enthusiasm, support, communications expertise, and musical abilities made the core team what it is, and the O’Brien Institute a great place to work.
Pablo is leaving the Institute for a role as manager, marketing and communications, at the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape, University of Calgary.
The O’Brien Institute thanks Pablo for his dedication and lasting contributions over the past seven years and wishes him the best in his new role.
Those who know and love Pablo are invited to sign a Kudoboard for him before June 23.
Please direct all communications-related queries for the O’Brien Institute to Brittany DeAngelis, senior communications coordinator.
