Influence this year's Raising Canada report
The O'Brien Institute for Public Health and Children First Canada (CFC) have collaborated over the past four years to create Raising Canada, an annual series of reports that track the top 10 threats to childhood.
The reports are accessible here:
Raising Canada 2018
Raising Canada 2019
Raising Canada 2020
The 2021 report will focus exclusively on the impact of the pandemic on children’s physical and mental health, and in particular the impact of school/childcare closures on the top 10 threats and emerging threats.

Economic Commentary 2018
Election Primer 2019
Writing of the report is being led by external partners this year, but the O'Brien Institute and Alberta Children Hospital Research Institute researchers are invited to contribute to the content through relevant expertise or research outcomes.
- Input from members will mainly involve providing sources/data that are reputable, published within the last year, and suitable based on this year's threats, namely: poor mental health, physical inactivity, child abuse, food insecurity, systemic racism and discrimination, bullying, infant mortality, vaccine-preventable illnesses, poverty, and unintentional and preventable injuries.
- Any experts on physical inactivity in particular, to serve as 'expert reviewer' screening information to see what, if anything, the report is missing, and to ensure the sources are reputable.
- Those interested are asked to reach out to sydney.campbell@mail.utoronto.ca as soon as possible.
