The O'Brien Institute for Public Health invites applications for the role of Research Manager. This is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term opportunity, with potential for extension based on the availability of grant funding.

The ideal candidate for this role will be a motivated individual with a passion for managing complex research projects and supporting high-impact collaborations within the healthcare and academic sectors. The Research Manager will lead the Learning Health System initiative as part of the Cumming School of Medicine’s new Strategic Plan.

Key responsibilities

  • Managing research programs and ensuring objectives align with strategic goals.
  • Overseeing project budgets, securing grant funding, and coordinating submissions.
  • Building and nurturing partnerships between internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Leading and mentoring research staff, ensuring team performance and growth.

Qualifications

  • PhD in a health-related field or MSc with substantial experience.
  • 8-10 years of relevant project management experience, preferably in academia or healthcare.
  • Proficiency in grant writing and research administration.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with experience managing teams.
